Combustion Grates

The product package of Revi Tec Feuerungsbau AG, a subsidiary company of TM.E. S.p.A. - Termomeccanica Ecologia, involves complete grate furnaces with air, water or combined water/air cooled grate technology.

The performance package involves design, construction, commissioning, service and maintenance.

The availability of the combustion grates is particularly high due to the free access during operation to all critical components, short start up and shut down and optimal combustion with synchronous-speed control for the grate drive.

The grates technology guarantees a uniform load (thermal, corrosive, abrasive, depositions) of the boiler because of a very stable combustion as a result of Automatic Controlled Combustion (ACC) and energy distribution (open air slots, no gaps between grate bars and side expansion).

Many years of experience confirm that the refractory wear is low, the thermal load is uniform and the slag depositions small because of the controlled air distribution and stable combustion chamber load.

The main grate furnace features:

  • Air or water cooled grate surface for low/high calorific values
  • Single lane grate until 40 t/h fuel throughput without middle beam
  • Drive elements and other flexible connections outside the grate and easily accessible during normal operation
  • No installations under the grate (no bearings/drives, no hoses for cooling water/hydraulic oil, no valves, cylinders/position encoders, etc.)
  • Water cooled grate side expansion system with adjustable spring loaded devices
  • Self cleaning air slots on the grate surface ensuring a controlled combustion
  • Any grate slope between 0° and 12°
  • Hydraulic drive for the grate modules (3 pieces) and for the feeder with two hydraulic cylinders for each part. This includes proportional valves and integrated synchronous speed control/position encoding
  • Five or six air zones with regulating dampers and with speed-controlled fans for each zone
  • Heat recovery for water cooled grate surface parts by primary/secondary air preheating
  • Superheated steam – air preheater for further preheating integrated in the Automatic Controlled Combustion (ACC) for low or highly variable calorific values
  • Freely adjustable ACC, self contained or integrated in DCS.
